- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of water over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Mix in ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Add 1 bag of fresh cranberries into the warm syrup, coating each one. Soak for 10-15 minutes.
- Transfer the cranberries onto a drying rack to catch excess syrup and let dry for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll the dried cranberries in ½ cup of granulated sugar until thoroughly coated for a sparkling appearance.
- Place sugared cranberries back on the drying rack for another 30 minutes to set the sugar coating.
