For the Mascarpone Mixture
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar Adjust to taste.
  • 4 large Egg Yolks Consider using cooked zabaglione for safety.
  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream For a light, airy texture.
  • 8 ounces Mascarpone Cheese At room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 tablespoon Orange Zest For an aromatic twist.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract To elevate flavor.
For Assembly
  • 24 pieces Crispy Ladyfingers (Savoiardi) Use dry version for optimal absorption.
  • 1/4 cup Strawberry Preserves Can substitute with strawberry jam.

Preparation Steps
  1. Prepare Strawberry Puree: Slice strawberries and combine with orange liqueur, orange juice, and sugar. Let stand for 15 minutes, then blend part with strawberry preserves until smooth, and fold back into the remaining strawberries.
  2. Make Mascarpone Layer: Beat together sugar and egg yolks until pale. Whip cream to soft peaks, then fold into egg mixture with mascarpone, orange zest, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Layer the Tiramisu: Spread a layer of strawberry puree in a baking pan, dip ladyfingers in remaining puree and layer over. Add half of the mascarpone mixture, smooth it out, and repeat, finishing with mascarpone.
  4. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight.
  5. Serve: Remove from fridge, slice, and garnish with sliced strawberries.
