Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by draining your silken tofu, gently pressing it between paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Carefully flip the tofu onto a flat, heatproof plate and slice it into 1/2 to 1-inch thick pieces.
  3. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic with soy sauce, black vinegar, sesame oil, vegetarian oyster sauce (if using), sugar, and chili oil for heat.
  4. Whisk the mixture together until the sugar dissolves and the ingredients are well blended.
  5. Set up your steamer or place a heat-safe plate in a pot with boiling water, ensuring the water doesn't touch the tofu.
  6. Steam the tofu for approximately 8-10 minutes, or until heated through and slightly translucent.
  7. Carefully remove the plate from the pot and drain any excess liquid.
  8. Pour the prepared soy garlic sauce generously over the tofu pieces and garnish with chopped spring onions and coriander.
  9. Serve hot, and enjoy the comforting flavors!
