Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray or oil.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in diced onion, garlic powder, dried parsley, salt, and pepper, cooking until the onions are soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Spread the drained sauerkraut evenly into the greased baking dish and sprinkle with brown sugar.
  4. Whisk together the tomato soup and water in a bowl until smooth. Pour this mixture over the sauerkraut and beef in the baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded Swiss cheese generously over the casserole.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-45 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
