Step-by-Step Instructions for Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather your ingredients to streamline the cooking process.
- In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add 1 small chopped onion and 1 diced green bell pepper, sautéing for 4-5 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 lb of ground beef, 1/2 lb of ground pork, 2 eggs, and 1/2 cup of milk. Add 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of ground black pepper, 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp of garlic powder, and 1 tsp of onion powder. Mix until just combined.
- Carefully fold in the sautéed vegetables and 1 cup of shredded provolone cheese into the meat mixture. Stir until evenly distributed.
- Transfer the meat mixture onto a greased loaf pan or lined baking sheet. Shape it into a loaf that gently tapers at the ends.
- Place the loaf in your preheated oven and bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Consider adding extra cheese slices on top of the meatloaf during the last 5 minutes of baking for a delicious twist.
- Once baked, let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meatloaf.
- Slice your Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf and serve warm with your choice of sides.
