- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and coat the bottom of a casserole dish with melted unsalted butter.
- Pound the chicken breasts to about ½ inch thickness if they are not thin-cut.
- Distribute half of the shredded smoked mozzarella and crumbled bacon evenly among the pounded chicken breasts and roll tightly.
- Season the rolled chicken generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Bake the Chicken Roll Ups for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and no longer pink in the center.
- Pour marinara sauce evenly over the chicken roll ups and top with the remaining smoked mozzarella.
- Return to the oven for another 3-5 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and melted.
