Ingredients

For the Blueberry Juice
  • 2 cups frozen blueberries or fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup water filtered for best flavor
  • ¼ cup organic raw sugar or monk fruit/agave for healthier option
  • 1 cup lemon juice freshly squeezed for best taste
For the Tea
  • 4 bags green tea or 4 teaspoons of loose-leaf green tea
To Serve
  • 1 slices fresh lemon for garnish
  • 1 sprig mint leaves for garnish

Equipment

  • medium saucepan
  • Large pitcher
  • strainer
  • Stirring spoon

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine frozen blueberries, water, and organic raw sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Allow to bubble gently for 5 minutes. Mash the blueberries with a fork and strain into a bowl to reserve the blueberry juice.
  2. In the meantime, bring filtered water to a boil, remove from heat, and let cool slightly to 170-180°F. Steep green tea bags or loose-leaf tea in the hot water for 3 minutes. Strain tea and set aside to cool completely.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine reserved blueberry juice and cooled green tea. Squeeze in the juice from 1 fresh lemon and stir gently. Adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired.
  4. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for about an hour, or serve immediately over ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices.
