Step-by-Step Instructions

  3. Melt the butter and let it cool. In another bowl, mix melted butter with eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until combined, folding in chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Spread the batter in the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes; check doneness with a toothpick.
