Step-by-Step Instructions for Classic Banana Bread
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
- Mash about 4 small ripe bananas in a medium bowl until you have approximately 1⅓ cups.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, cream together 0.5 cup of softened unsalted butter with 0.5 cup each of brown sugar and granulated sugar using a hand mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
- Add 2 room-temperature large eggs one at a time, then stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and the mashed bananas.
- Gently mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
