  • 2 cloves Garlic minced

  • 1 tsp Paprika smoked for deeper taste

For the Tzatziki Sauce

  • 1 small Cucumber grated and drained
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Dill chopped, or swap in mint
For Building the Gyros
  • 4 pieces Pita Bread fresh or homemade
  • 1 small Red Onion thinly sliced
  • 1 medium Tomato diced

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Prepare Tzatziki Sauce: Combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, grated cucumber, and dill in a bowl. Mix well and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  2. Cook Beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute. Add ground beef, breaking it apart. Cook for 5–7 minutes until browned.
  3. Season Beef: Stir in oregano, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
  4. Warm Pita: Warm pita bread either in the skillet or oven.
  5. Assemble Gyros: Place beef in the center of each pita. Add toppings like onion, tomato, lettuce, and drizzle with tzatziki sauce. Sprinkle feta if desired.
  6. Serve Immediately: Roll up the pitas and serve right away.
