Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Juice fresh lemons until you have 1 cup of lemon juice and finely chop the basil leaves.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with 3/4 cup of granulated sugar over medium-low heat until sugar fully dissolves, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in lemon juice and chopped basil into the cooled sugar syrup until combined.
  4. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least 4 hours.
  5. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn until soft-serve consistency, about 20-25 minutes.
  6. Transfer the churned sorbet into an airtight container and freeze for a few hours until firm.
  7. Serve in bowls or cones, and allow to sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to soften before scooping.
