  3. Spread the mixed berry preserves evenly across the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border.
  4. Mix melted butter with vanilla extract and brush over the preserves.
  5. Cut the pastry into eight equal strips and twist each strip several times.
  6. Place the twisted strips on the baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle sugar on top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
