Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold, unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside two-thirds for topping and press the rest into the pan's base.
- Bake the crust for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown. Let it cool slightly.
- Wash and chop the fresh strawberries, then sprinkle with granulated sugar and flour, tossing gently to coat.
- Spread the strawberry filling over the crust and sprinkle with the reserved crumb mixture. Bake for an additional 30 to 35 minutes, until the topping is golden and juices are bubbling.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before whisking powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract to create the glaze.
- Lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment, drizzle the glaze over top, and serve sliced.

Notes
Choose ripe strawberries and ensure the bars cool completely to get clean slices. Variations can include adding mint or chocolate.
