- In the same pot, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves, then bring to a gentle boil.
- Add boiled orange peels to the syrup and reduce heat. Cook gently for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally until peels are translucent.
- Transfer candied peels onto a parchment-lined cooling rack. Spread them out to prevent sticking and let cool for several hours or overnight.
- Once cooled, roll in extra sugar or drizzle with chocolate if desired. Store in an airtight container.
