Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and ground beef. Cook for 5–7 minutes until browned.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 3–4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Spread the beef mixture in the prepared baking dish and layer with thinly sliced potatoes. Season with salt, pepper, dried Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan cheese over the potatoes. Pour the beef broth or water around the edges, and drizzle with milk if desired.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until the potatoes are tender and cheese is golden.
- Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving, and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes
Slice potatoes thinly for even cooking. Drain excess fat from the ground beef to prevent greasiness. For leftovers, add a fried egg for a hearty breakfast.
