Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and melted butter. Stir in 1.5 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Gently fold in the frozen shredded hash browns.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  5. Mix crushed cornflakes or buttery crackers with melted butter and sprinkle on top.
  6. Bake uncovered for 45-55 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let it rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
