Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare your baking sheet with a Silpat mat or parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Devil's Food cake mix, water, vegetable oil, eggs, and chocolate fudge instant pudding. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  3. Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of batter onto the baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  4. Bake for 7-10 minutes until soft and spongy. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  5. Let the Whoopie Pies cool completely on the rack before icing.
  6. Stir orange food coloring gel into the vanilla cake icing until desired color is reached.
  7. Turn half the cakes flat-side up. Pipe or spread a generous amount of orange icing on each, then place another cake on top, flat-side down.
  8. Decorate with edible black glitter or black sprinkles, and add black licorice pieces and candy eyes for a spooky effect.
