- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and coat a 9x9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 8–10 minutes until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and baking powder. Stir well.
- Gradually stir in buttermilk to the dry mixture until a sticky batter forms.
- Gently fold in the cooked sausage and shredded cheddar cheese into the biscuit dough.
- Pour melted butter into the prepared baking dish, then spread the biscuit dough evenly over it. Cut the dough into 9 squares.
