  • 1 cup fresh blueberries Rinse and dry if using frozen.
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries Hull and slice into bite-sized pieces.
For the Cream Mixture
  • 5 oz cream cheese Use for creamy texture.
  • 12 oz strawberry yogurt Can substitute with other flavors.
  • 8 oz Cool Whip Substitute with homemade whipped cream if desired.
  • 3/4 tsp almond extract Optional, can be omitted.
  • 3 tsp lemon juice From about 1/2 lemon.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Rinse blueberries under cool water. If using frozen, thaw and blot dry.
  2. Hull strawberries and slice into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Combine cream cheese, strawberry yogurt, and lemon juice in a bowl, mix until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, combine Cool Whip and almond extract, folding gently until blended.
  5. Layer strawberries, yogurt mixture, and blueberries in a trifle dish, repeating layers until ingredients used.
  6. Top with remaining berries and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
