For the Strawberries
  • 12 pieces Fresh Strawberries Choose ripe and juicy berries, washed and thoroughly dried.
For the Chocolate-Coating
  • 1 cup Orange Candy Melts Can substitute with white chocolate colored with oil-based food coloring.
For the Decoration
  • 1 piece Piping Bag or Ziplock Bag For creating the fun carrot design.
For the Optional Dirt Cups
  • 1 cup Crushed Oreos Can switch to chocolate graham crackers.
  • 1 box Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix Whisk with cold milk for a creamy layer.

Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Piping Bag or Ziplock Bag
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by washing your fresh strawberries thoroughly under cool water, ensuring they are completely clean. Pat them dry gently with a paper towel or cloth.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, add your orange candy melts. Heat them in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring until the melts are smooth and completely melted.
  3. Take a strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted candy, swirling gently to ensure the entire fruit is covered. Place the dipped strawberry carefully onto the prepared parchment paper.
  4. Transfer any remaining melted candy into a piping bag or a Ziplock bag. Pipe horizontal lines across the dipped strawberries to mimic carrot texture.
  5. Allow the chocolate-covered strawberries to set at room temperature for about 30 minutes or in the refrigerator for 10 to 20 minutes until hard.
  6. If making dirt cups, combine instant chocolate pudding mix with cold milk, whisking until it thickens. Layer crushed Oreos and pudding in clear cups and top with chocolate-covered strawberries.
