- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a 9x13 baking dish.
- In a saucepan, melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat until browned.
- In a bowl, mix blueberries with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and lemon zest. Set aside.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Add milk, remaining sugar, vanilla, and brown butter. Stir until combined.
- Pour the batter into the baking dish, then top with the blueberry mixture. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar on top.
- Bake in the oven for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 30 minutes before serving warm, ideally with vanilla ice cream.
