- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Spread the undrained crushed pineapple evenly in the dish, then scatter the drained pineapple chunks on top.
- In a mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Whisk until blended.
- Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter over the pineapple layers without stirring to maintain the layers.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly. A toothpick should come out clean.
- Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Optionally, serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
