Step-by-Step Instructions for Oreo Dirt Cake
- Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions and pour into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes.
- Poke holes in the top of the cooled cake using the back of a wooden spoon to allow the hot fudge to seep in.
- Warm the hot fudge in the microwave for 30 seconds. Pour it evenly over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. Let cool completely.
- Whisk the chocolate pudding mix with 1.75 cups of cold milk for 2 minutes. Pour over the cake and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
- Mix the second packet of pudding with remaining milk and whisk until smooth. Refrigerate for 10 minutes, then fold in Cool Whip and 3/4 of the crushed Oreos.
- Spread the whipped topping mixture over the cake and sprinkle with remaining crushed Oreos. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
