Step-by-Step Instructions for Crispy Bang Bang Tofu
  1. Start by pressing your firm or extra-firm tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In one bowl, combine cornstarch and garlic powder. In a separate bowl, add panko breadcrumbs. Coat each tofu cube first in the cornstarch mixture, then cover with panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange tofu cubes in a single layer and bake for 30-40 minutes, turning halfway through.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together vegan mayonnaise, Sriracha, white sugar, and salt until smooth.
  5. Once baked, toss the tofu cubes in the prepared sauce while still hot and serve immediately for maximum crunch.
