  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs substitute regular breadcrumbs if desired
For Cooking
  • 1 spray Oil for spraying to ensure crispiness

Step-by-Step Instructions for Crispy Air-Fried Sardines
  1. Prepare the Egg Wash: In a small bowl, whisk together egg, flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Set Up the Breadcrumbs: Spread out panko breadcrumbs in a shallow dish for coating the sardines.
  3. Coat the Sardines: Dip sardines in the egg wash, then press into panko breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange coated sardines in the basket leaving space between them.
  5. Air Fry the Sardines: Spray tops with oil, air fry for 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Flip and Finish Cooking: Flip sardines, spray again with oil, and air fry for another 4-5 minutes.
