For the Dough
  • 1 can Refrigerated Crescent Roll Dough or puff pastry
For the Cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese or pepper jack
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese or gouda/Fontina
For the Finish
  • 1 large Egg for wash

Step-by-Step Instructions for Cheesy Taco Sticks
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large skillet, over medium heat, add the ground beef, cooking until browned, about 5–6 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the beef, add water, and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Unroll the crescent roll dough and press seams together to form a rectangle.
  5. Spread the seasoned beef mixture evenly across the dough.
  6. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the beef, followed by red onion, green bell pepper, and cilantro.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from the wide end, sealing the edges to secure the filling.
  8. Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the rolled dough.
  9. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
  10. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving with salsa.
